On Fragmenta Books every right comes from the legal agreement you sign; the blockchain is simply a tool to record the participations and distribute the royalties.
Legal
Lawyers specialised in RWA tokenization in several jurisdictions worldwide, not only the United Kingdom, drafted the Licensing Participation Agreement and the Assignment & Novation Agreement. Every participation is a binding contractual right for participants anywhere in the world, except the United States, where Fragmenta Books does not accept participants, and every transfer of a participation from one member to another is legally complete and enforceable.
Why We Built Fragmenta Books
Buildings produce rents. Well-managed books produce royalties — every day, from readers all over the world, reported by Amazon down to the single sale.
Until now, the only way to receive those royalties was to own the books: to write or buy them, publish them, advertise them and manage them. Buying an entire publishing business is expensive and takes time to run.
Fragmenta Books opens part of those royalties to people who want to participate without running a publishing business. The founder keeps managing the books and keeps the majority of the royalties, so the interests of the founder and of the participants stay aligned.
What We Do — and What We Do Not Do
We do:
- select collections with a verified royalty history and evaluate them with a written method;
- publish, for every collection, the monthly royalty history and the original Amazon KDP and Audible ACX reports;
- leave every collection in the hands of its founders, who keep managing the books, the advertising and the Amazon pages;
- pay distributions every quarter, based on the royalties the books actually generate;
- include the digital copies of all the books of a collection for every participant.
We do not:
- offer financial instruments, securities or investment products: participation is a contractual right;
- promise or guarantee any amount: past royalties are not a guarantee of future royalties;
- transfer the copyright of the books: participants receive a right to part of the royalties, not the books themselves;
- accept participants from the United States.
Transparency
Every collection page shows its book list with Amazon links, its monthly royalty history and the original sales reports, before anyone participates. Participants then receive a monthly report on the collection’s sales and royalties, and each distribution is recorded on the Base blockchain, where anyone can check it.
